Frequently Asked Questions

We believe proactive healthcare should be understandable, transparent, and personal. This guide answers common questions about Cordan Wellness, our membership model, testing, functional fitness, treatments, and what to expect as a patient.

About Cordan Wellness

What is Cordan Wellness?

Cordan Wellness is a personalized longevity and preventive health clinic focused on helping patients optimize their health today while reducing their risk of chronic disease in the future. We use advanced laboratory testing, detailed health assessments, functional fitness testing, and individualized treatment plans to look beyond traditional “normal” ranges and better understand each patient’s unique health profile.

How is Cordan Wellness different from a traditional primary care practice?

Traditional primary care is essential for diagnosing and treating illness. Our focus is different: we dedicate additional time and testing to prevention, health optimization, longevity, metabolic health, physical function, and identifying risk factors before they develop into disease.

Does Cordan Wellness replace my primary care provider?

No. We recommend that patients maintain a primary care provider for routine primary care, acute illness, vaccinations, and other services outside the scope of our clinic. Cordan Wellness is designed to complement—not replace—your existing medical care.

Who is longevity medicine for?

Longevity medicine is not just for older adults. It can benefit adults who want to better understand their health, improve physical performance, optimize metabolic and cardiovascular health, manage age-related changes, or take a more proactive approach to preventing chronic disease.

Membership & Appointments

Do I need to become a member?

Some services may be available individually, while our comprehensive longevity programs are structured around membership. Membership allows us to follow your health data longitudinally rather than relying on a single snapshot.

What is included in my membership?

Membership benefits vary by tier and may include comprehensive health assessments, advanced laboratory testing, functional fitness assessments, personalized health plans, follow-up visits, ongoing monitoring, and provider communication. Your specific membership agreement will clearly identify what is included.

How long are appointments?

Appointment length varies depending on the service. Comprehensive longevity evaluations are intentionally longer than typical medical appointments so we have time to review your history, goals, laboratory results, physical performance, and individualized risk factors.

Can I cancel my membership?

Cancellation and early-termination provisions depend on your membership agreement. Any services, testing, refunds, or credits associated with early termination will be handled according to the terms of that agreement.

Insurance & Payment

Do you accept health insurance?

No. Cordan Wellness is a cash-pay practice and does not bill health insurance.

Why don’t you accept insurance?

Our model allows us to provide longer appointments, advanced testing, preventive assessments, and individualized services that may not be covered by traditional insurance.

Can I submit my expenses to my insurance company myself?

Depending on the service and your insurance plan, you may be able to submit certain expenses for reimbursement. Coverage is determined entirely by your insurance carrier, and reimbursement cannot be guaranteed.

Can I use my HSA or FSA?

Some medically appropriate services may qualify for HSA/FSA reimbursement. Eligibility depends on the service and your individual plan, so patients should confirm eligibility with their plan administrator or tax adviser.

Are laboratory tests included in membership pricing?

This depends on the membership tier and specific test. Before testing is ordered, we will explain what is included and identify any additional anticipated costs.

Longevity Testing

What laboratory testing do you offer?

Testing is individualized but may evaluate areas such as cardiovascular risk, cholesterol and advanced lipoproteins, insulin resistance and metabolic health, inflammation, nutritional status, hormone health, and other biomarkers relevant to healthy aging.

Why do you order tests that my annual physical doesn’t?

Standard screening is designed primarily to identify established disease or major risk factors. Longevity-focused testing may provide additional information about cardiovascular, metabolic, inflammatory, hormonal, and nutritional health that can help us identify opportunities for earlier intervention.

Do you draw blood at the clinic?

No. Blood collection is performed through an outside laboratory partner. We order the appropriate testing and then review and interpret the results with you.

What is biological age?

Biological age is an estimate of how an individual’s physiology compares with population-based aging patterns. When appropriate, we may calculate biological-age measures using validated biomarker-based models. These estimates are best viewed as one component of an overall health assessment rather than a definitive measure of how long someone will live.

Can you tell me how long I’m going to live?

No test can reliably predict an individual’s lifespan. Our goal is to identify modifiable risk factors and improve the factors associated with healthspan—the number of years you remain healthy, active, and independent.

Functional Fitness & Physical Longevity

Why do you perform physical fitness testing?

Strength, mobility, balance, aerobic fitness, and physical function are strongly associated with healthy aging and independence. Laboratory values tell us part of the story; physical performance provides another important measure of overall health.

What functional fitness testing do you perform?

Depending on the patient, assessments may include grip strength, gait speed, sit-to-stand performance, balance testing, and other age-appropriate functional assessments.

Do I need to be athletic to complete the testing?

No. Testing is adjusted to the patient’s age, abilities, medical history, and physical condition.

Do you perform VO₂ max testing at the clinic?

VO₂ max testing may be recommended as part of a patient’s assessment, but testing is performed through an outside partner rather than onsite.

What happens if my fitness results are below average?

The purpose is not to pass or fail. Results help identify areas that may benefit from improvement and allow us to establish measurable goals that can be reassessed over time.

Hormone & Metabolic Health

Do you offer hormone replacement therapy?

Hormone therapy may be considered when clinically appropriate after a comprehensive medical evaluation, review of symptoms, laboratory testing, risk assessment, and discussion of potential benefits and risks. Treatment is never based solely on a patient’s desire to reach a particular laboratory value.

Do you offer testosterone replacement therapy (TRT)?

Yes, when medically appropriate. Patients undergo a dedicated evaluation and appropriate laboratory and safety screening before treatment is considered.

Do you offer menopause and perimenopause care?

Hormonal symptoms and age-related hormonal changes can be evaluated as part of our personalized health programs. Treatment recommendations are individualized based on symptoms, medical history, laboratory data when appropriate, risk factors, and patient goals.

Do you prescribe GLP-1 medications for weight loss?

GLP-1–based therapy may be considered for appropriate patients after medical evaluation and safety screening. Medication is only one part of our approach; maintaining muscle mass, nutrition, exercise, and metabolic health remain important components of treatment.

Will everyone who asks for a medication receive it?

No. All prescriptions are based on clinical appropriateness, contraindications, risks, and the judgment of the treating medical provider.

IV Therapy

Do you offer IV vitamin therapy?

Yes. We offer selected IV therapies following appropriate medical screening.

Is IV therapy safe?

IV therapy has potential benefits as well as risks. Patients are screened for contraindications, and therapies are administered according to clinical protocols. As with any intravenous treatment, complications can occur, including bruising, irritation, infection, allergic reactions, fluid or electrolyte disturbances, and other treatment-specific risks.

How often should I receive IV therapy?

There is not one schedule appropriate for everyone. Frequency depends on the treatment, clinical indication, medical history, and individual goals.

Do you offer IV Niagen®?

If offered by the clinic, IV nicotinamide riboside therapy can be discussed with your provider to determine whether it is appropriate for you. We will review the current evidence, limitations of that evidence, potential risks, expected costs, and alternatives before treatment.

Aesthetic & Cosmetic Services

Do you offer Botox® or similar treatments?

Cordan Wellness offers selected cosmetic and aesthetic therapies. Available treatments and pricing can be discussed during an aesthetic consultation.

Do I need to be a longevity member to receive aesthetic treatments?

This depends on the specific service. Certain aesthetic services may be offered independently of longevity membership.

Results & Personalized Plans

What happens after my testing is completed?

Your provider reviews your results in the context of your medical history, medications, family history, lifestyle, physical performance, and personal goals. Rather than simply sending you laboratory values, we explain what the findings mean and develop an individualized plan.

What might my longevity plan include?

Recommendations may include nutrition, exercise, strength and aerobic training, sleep optimization, weight management, supplements when appropriate, cardiovascular risk reduction, hormone or metabolic treatment when clinically indicated, and additional testing or referrals.

Will you recommend supplements?

Supplements may be recommended when there is a reasonable clinical rationale. We do not believe that taking a large number of supplements automatically improves longevity.

How often will my testing be repeated?

That depends on the biomarker, treatment, and clinical situation. Some measurements may be repeated within several months to evaluate an intervention, while others may only need to be assessed annually or less frequently.

Can I track whether I’m actually improving?

Yes. One of the goals of our model is to establish objective baseline measurements and then reassess relevant biomarkers and functional measures over time.

Safety & Medical Care

What happens if you find something abnormal?

We will discuss the finding with you and determine the appropriate next step. This may involve additional testing, treatment, referral to your primary care provider, or evaluation by a specialist.

Can Cordan Wellness treat emergencies?

No. Cordan Wellness is not an emergency medical service. Patients experiencing a medical emergency should call 911 or seek care at the nearest emergency department.

Can I message my provider between appointments?

Provider communication is available according to the benefits and communication policies associated with your membership tier. The patient portal should not be used for emergencies.

Will you coordinate with my primary care provider or specialist?

With your permission, relevant results and recommendations can be shared with other members of your healthcare team when appropriate.

Privacy & Data

Is my health information private?

Yes. We take patient privacy seriously and handle protected health information according to applicable federal and state privacy requirements. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

Will you sell my health or genetic information?

Patient health information is not sold for advertising or marketing purposes. Any specialized testing involving outside laboratories is also subject to the privacy practices and consent requirements of those organizations.
